What is behind our sustainability filter?

As you may have already realized, we have a vision to create a more sustainable shop and offer an alternative. If you would like more information about our sustainability strategy, you can find it here.

But what exactly is behind our vision and how do we choose our brands on the shop?

Our goal is to offer a more sustainable shop. Knowing this, it is not necessary to tell our customers that our products are sustainable, but why we at Lullaby Planet have decided to add these products to our portfolio and consider them sustainable. For this reason, we have developed our own criteria that are important to us. The more criteria that are met the better. However, it must be remembered that it is not realistic for a product to meet all the criteria. The naming of the respective criteria in relation to the individual products is intended to create transparency behind our processes.

Our criteria

While you will only find the keywords for the criteria in the product descriptions. Here, however, we summarized what we understand by each criterion.
Certified product
The product as a whole has been certified. Certified products meet a certain standard. In general, we do not focus on specific certifications. We accept a wide range of certifications, since they promote more sustainable consumption.
Certified raw materials
Certified raw materials means that the product is made from or contains certified raw materials. Examples would be cotton, wood or even plants that have been used in cosmetic products, among others.
Made in Germany
Products that meet this criterion come from manufacturers in Germany. "Made in Germany" stands for quality and is intended to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Quality matters to us because it means that a product lasts longer on average, which in turn reduces resource consumption. It also saves emissions since the transport way is shorter. Lastly, made in Germany stands for job security.
Produced in the EU
Produced in the European Union is similar to the criteria "Made in Germany". It stands for complying with existing norms and standards, and for fair and social working conditions. A production in the EU also refers to lower emission because of shorter transportation ways.
A product is seen as eco-friendly when the product has been made with greener or better methods. Greener or better methods are methods that use less resources like water, energy, or renewable resources.
Renewable raw materials
As the name indicates, products with this criterion have been made from renewable resources. Renewable means that the used raw materials are natural and/or regrowing. It is an advantage since the impact is lower.
Fair & social
A product is considered fair and social if it has been produced under ethical working conditions. It should be noted that this can only be indicated if clear information is available.
If no information is available, we cannot indicate this. This does not mean that the company is not fair & social, but only that we have no information about it now.
It could also indicate that the product was developed in cooperation with a social initiative such as a workshop for disabled people. It may also indicate that the product is animal cruelty free, which means that it has not been tested on animals.
Recyclable Materials
Products made out of materials that can be recycled will be labeled recyclable materials. It means that through the correct disposal of the product, part of the products or all can be reused.
Recycled Materials

The use of exclusively natural ingredients is also included in this group, but this does not apply to perfume.
